Well no and yes.

Monkey bread is all its own.

Monkey bread, also called monkey puzzle bread, sticky bread, Hungarian coffee cake, golden crown, and pinch-me cake. It is a soft, sweet, sticky pastry served breakfast or as a treat.

 

It consists of pieces of soft baked dough sprinkled with cinnamon or any of our other spices and fillings. We also top all of ours with specialty glazes.
